home is where one starts from
The midwest is more than just where we work, it’s home.
It all started at home…
From the time that Clint Tagtow, owner of Midwest Shades, was a young man, he knew that working with his hands, and his family, was going to be an important part of his life. He has been fortunate to be able to do just that. His passion for making things beautiful began when his family purchased the historic RayMar Hotel in downtown Rochester and began the process of restoring and renovating the property. Clint and his father, Avery, spent a lot of time together renovating the hotel getting it ready for guests.
When the Tagtow family sold the hotel, Clint started his business Galaxy Painting which furthered his love of making homes and businesses beautiful. After a few years of running that business, which he still operates today, he realized he wanted to take his passion of creating elegant spaces to the next level—he wanted to help his clients put the finishing touches on their spaces. Midwest Shades was born.
Clint’s passion for great service and impeccable craftsmanship is evident in all he and his team do. Whether it’s repainting the interior of an existing home, repairing and staining the exterior of a home, or painting a new home, this new venture into providing custom blinds, shades and window treatments will help Clint’s clients take their spaces to the next level.
Clint and his wife, Shelly, live in Rochester with their two daughters, Teagan and Holly.
